Notre-Dame took a long time!

Notre-Dame in Paris took a long time to get restored. With the elaborate work on the in- and outside of the church and the demands on historic originality, it is easy to understand why.

Go inside and look up, and you will not be disapointed. Amazing in every sense of the word.

These pictures where taken with a 10mm lens (full frame) and hand-held. The 10 mm gives wide angle extention distortion which deliberately has not been corrected by editing. It can be avoided by using a different lens, take multible shots and stich them together in editing. But that would have involved using a tripod which was simply not allowed. The church has been visited by over 6 million visitors since December 2024. And a permit to photograph it after hours is very hard to get.

Dispite the distortion, the reel experience of seeing the collums and ceilings is actually not far of from what you see in the pictures.
